"Kimberly Larson is a prime example of why women suffer needlessly. When a patient lays bare their most vulnerable and private issues and the practitioner dismisses them, they suffer even more. She refused to listen and run any tests. Rather she provides paper handouts that are less helpful than a quick internet search. It’s clear this practitioner is in this for the money and not the patients. I will not be back and will share my experience with as many other local women that I am able. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.

FAQs

Is a nurse practitioner the same as a gynecologist? ›

However, WHNPs generally have more preventive care and counseling training, while OBGYNs are physicians who have completed medical school and residency training in women's health. They can provide all aspects of care, from preventive care to complex surgeries.

Is a nurse practitioner respected? ›

11, 2024) —The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) applauds the recognition of nurse practitioners (NPs) in U.S News & World Report's “Best Jobs” rankings for 2024, which lists the profession first in three categories.

Is it okay to see a nurse practitioner instead of a doctor? ›

While it can be tempting to want care from someone with the title “Doctor”, nurse practitioners are equally skilled and knowledgeable in their field. Nurse practitioners are typically not as booked as doctors, and can fit patients in sooner, providing relief without long delays or wait times.

Can someone with an NP be called doctor? ›

For example, California and Georgia forbid nurses, pharmacists, and other professionals from using the "doctor" title. Most states allow practitioners with doctorate degrees to use the title “doctor” as long as they immediately clarify their role and qualifications.

Is a PA higher than a NP? ›

It's important to note that both PAs and NPs are mid-level medical professionals. They're basically at the same level. However, NPs can work independently in many states that PAs can't. So, it places nurse practitioners above physical assistants in terms of practice independence.

Why do patients prefer NP over MD? ›

Research has found that patients under the care of NPs have fewer unnecessary hospital readmissions, fewer potentially preventable hospitalizations, higher patient satisfaction and fewer unnecessary emergency room visits than patients under the care of physicians.

Is it OK to call a nurse practitioner doctor? ›

So, do you call a nurse practitioner doctor? As a general rule, no, because not all nurse practitioners have a doctorate or similar qualifying degree. The general consensus is that you should use the cue they give you in their introduction, including the title they assign themselves.
