You can't really know they are afk. Sure they are not moving, but that is not enough to judge their afkness. They might be doing something else game related: chatting, inventory, tp, observing since it's their first time, etc etc.

Quite common for some to be afk (ie watching Youtube) while playing, but that says more about the game being boring or got boring for playing the content too many times.

The real challenge is game design: to design meta or whatever that is not very boring and can accomodate the lazy players . Auric Basic is great example: no one really cares if you afk or not, even trolls can only do so much to make it fail. Even if the meta fails, most players just let it go and move on.

Implementing anti afk mechanics is useless, since like I said they are not really afk and more like lazy, and lazy players will always find a way to abuse the system.

I myself have not logged in much after finishing the story.

Nothing is fun in SotO, even EoD was not fun. I abandoned EoD when getting the turtle was such a waste of time. Even when turtle strike requirement was purchasable, I still did not bother with the turtle 😆

The most fun I had was PoF, that is were GW2 peaked IMO. Now, I feel I'm just passing time just doing things. GW2 needs some major GOOD changes for me to consider playing it again like I used to.

Anyway, I might try Baldur's Gate 3, I heard that is a great game 😄

You are never the Commander, you are the Choremmander (the Commander of chores). Part of your job as Choremander (in this case) is to babysit the egg , spend money to build stuff for it when it grows up, and to hand it over. Your reward? Well another chore (aka achievements) of course 🤣

I prefer core Tyria maps, they are beautiful AND performant, zero frame drops.

Good luck getting a constant frame rate on these new maps. They look good on screenshots tho 😄

Edit: Tested on a 3080, looking at any building = 48 fps 😅

You were a Commander and at the same time a Choremander (since NPC allies always ask you to do mundane things to progress the story).

Wayfinder? Sure, but more like Chorefinder 😄.

Skyscale was great everywhere, but not on this new maps since navigation in general is a pain.

PoF is the only real expansion Anet made, and the best in terms of price to content ratio. I know SotO is not done, but this should be a $10 expansion.

Sadly, the good old days are over.

The ony real expansion was HoT and PoF.

For HoT, they have to reduce the price like after a month of release because of lack of content.

PoF was the best expansion in terms of content and price.

EoD was bad, and people did not get their moneys worth. I mean, some people don't even have the turtle mount that they paid for.

So yeah, this is how they are gonna roll from now on. Every year you will pay $25 for an "expansion". I would say this is looking more like a yearly subscription they have implemented.

Everyone who had ever say "git git" is a moron, sorry to say but it's true. Not an opion, but a fact.

So let's say MrGudPlayer went to Dragon's End to do the meta. This guy is uber good, the best GW2 player in existence. So he goes there expecting to get his egg of the tutle. Because the map is dead and there is nothnig on LFG, he waited, and waited, tried and tried to no avail. Basically, being gud is no good! This uber player can't get his achieve! LOL.

But here is MrNoGud, worst player you can find, just happens to spawn at a map at the right time at the right instance. He follows the tag not knowning what the hell they are doing, finds himself at final fight, and lo and behold they won the meta! He does not even know that meta was a requirement for tutle LOL.

FYI, this is a true story.

For NVIDIA cards on the drivers/control panel, there is global/per game max fps limit and background max fps limit. For AMD I think they have it too, or use a third party.

But yeah it is better to have those options built in.
